Wing Commander is a space combat game that places the player in the heart of a conflict between men and Kilrathis, half-human, half-feline creatures. The player embodies a young pilot, fresh out of the academy, integrated into the Vega campaign.

There are different types of ships, each with its own characteristics. The missions take place under the orders of the Wingman, an allied ship that it is essential to preserve from enemy attacks.
