- Skybox Metal Universe sports a base set of 200 cards, which breaks down as follows:
- 100 Regular Star Veteran Cards
- 50 rookie cards
- 50 alternate jersey variation cards
Take at least 1 Rookie or Alternate Jersey Variation card per deck, on average, and keep an eye out for a host of numbered parallels, including 1 on 1 Gold PMGs (Precious Metal Gems) and autograph parallels! Plus, collect 97-98 Retros, a 50-card design variant featuring top recruits from the base set.
Each card in this collection features a unique background with original artwork from the 1997-98 Metallic Universe Core Set!
- Collect Skybox Premium Prospects and 98-99 Skybox Premium Prospects bundles with top prospects 2021-22. The latter is a design variant inspired by the Skybox Premium Rookies - Star Rubies 1998-99 set. Look for low number and/or autograph parallels from both sets.
- Look for new Big Man on Ice, The Cheddar, Amped Up, Neon Icons and Pitter Patter insert sets featuring the NHL's top players and rookies.
Be sure to look for the Gold and Autograph parallels of these insert sets.
- Find two awesome new acetate inserts: Ice Carvings and Skybox Metal Picks, featuring top active stars and rookies. Take at least 1 acetate card per box, on average, and look for low numbered Spectrum parallels of both sets of inserts.
- Platinum Portraits cards are back, featuring laser-cut cards of the game's top players and rookies. Also be sure to collect the rare Metal-X set featuring stunning metallic paper cards.
- The uniquely designed and super rare Jambalaya insert is home to many of the best players in the game today.
