Whirlwind is an air dragon with unicorn ancestry – two species that couldn't be more opposite in nature, leading to him never really fitting in with either group.
Other dragons envied her beauty, while unicorns shunned her because of her ability to fly.
But Whirlwind found peace in the dark and stormy clouds, where she learned to harness the power of the storm within her.
Despite her turbulent youth, she was the first to defend the dragons and unicorns when the trolls began to hunt them, unleashing her ferocity in a bright and powerful rainbow that could be seen in many parts of Skylands.
From this day on, evildoers would tremble when dark clouds formed and flee from the rainbow that followed the storm.
