Alexis Kaye was a disillusioned college student whose anger at the world she saw collapsing around her made her the perfect acolyte for the Joker™'s nihilistic philosophy.
She wanted to prove to her hero that she wasn't just an obsessive fangirl, but a potential partner in crime. She created her own version of the Joker's toxin and killed her college dean with it.
The Joker, watching from inside his wardrobe, was convinced that Alexis - or Punchline, as she called herself - was up to the task given to him to help him in his next big plot against Batman™

The Joker uses a variety of clown and circus-themed weapons, from razor-sharp playing cards to acid-doused lapel flowers.
He often sets up shop in abandoned card factories or dilapidated former circus grounds, staying true to his favorite themes.
