The "London" game traces the period from the Great Fire of London in 1666 to the beginning of the 20th century. In this game you will take part in the reconstruction of the city.
You will have to manage your expenses as well as possible while showing magnificence, knowing that your victory points will be according to your achievements. Be careful, however, not to let poverty ruin your efforts...
This game is almost exclusively a card game. These are divided into three packages to make you relive, as faithfully as possible, the events of History. You will place your constructions in an exposed line in front of you on the table. The cards, thus spread out in your building area, will give you various advantages, such as money, victory points or poverty reduction. Most cards will have an effect when you restore your city. Money is important, since you will have to buy cards and lands.
You will earn money based on the cards spread out in front of you when you restore your town. If you run out of money, nothing prevents you from taking out a loan. Investing in London will allow you to gain even more cards and reduce the impact of poverty on your city (with more land, you reduce overcrowding).
The board is divided into areas called "arrondissements". For each district is indicated its purchase cost, the number of cards that are drawn and the number of Victory Points scored at the end of the game. Where you buy land is not to be neglected since the effect of certain cards depends on the boroughs you own. The management of poverty is a vast problem. Often you increase it by restoring the city. You can reduce it through the effect of some cards spread out in your construction area.
The game will end when the last deck of cards is exhausted. You will then count your victory points. These will be obtained through your building markers placed in the boroughs, the cards spread out in your building area (even the covered ones) and the money still in your possession. You will lose Victory Points for poverty you failed to deal with and loans taken out.
