In GTA III, you will play a gangster ready to return to service and fulfill the various contracts that we may wish to offer you. Assassination, kidnapping, drug trafficking, vehicle theft and many other missions as illegal as they are violent constitute the essence of this original game to say the least.
Each successful operation earns you money which you can then use to buy new weapons and more easily take revenge on the traitors who reported you to the police. But you will also have to face rival gangs, hitmen and the police who are after you and will not give you a moment's respite.
There are nearly a hundred perilous missions that you will have to complete, aboard vehicles in hellish chases but also in phases on foot where you will have complete freedom of action.
Hit someone, shoot them, steal a car, etc. : everything is allowed to fulfill your various contracts! The big new thing is that the action is now presented in true 3D for total immersion and no longer in a top view as was the case before. The playing field is immense since it is an entire city, with its different neighborhoods, its traffic and its teeming population.
