TRIANGLE SYSTEM
Fighting in Dead or Alive is based on a triangle system: strikes trump throws, throws trump strikes, and finally strikes trump strikes.
When you launch one type of attack and you defeat an attack of another type, for example by launching a strike while your opponent is trying to throw, then your attack becomes a superior counterattack and causes damage additional.
TAKEN
Dead or Alive's fights are much more than a series of strikes and throws. You have to learn how to handle the holds too. At the exact moment your opponent unleashes their strike, land a hold to neutralize it and counterattack to deal big damage in one hit.
DANGER ZONES
These are special sectors found in most levels that inflict heavy damage when a fighter gets pushed into them. It can be simple walls, titanic explosions or cars launched at full speed. Some levels also have danger zones on the ground.
BLOCKBUSTER LEVELS
When two fighters clash, the walls around them crumble, generators explode, entire buildings collapse under their feet! In Dead or Alive, you don't just watch the show... you make it happen. Use the all-new Devastating Blow to knock your opponent into a danger zone, a feature of the game, and inflict severe damage and maims.
SUSPENSION
Some levels are separated into several floors. You can push your opponent into the void, but if he manages to hold on at the last second, there will be a new game sequence: the cliffhanger. If you succeed in your attack, you will deal even more damage to your opponent.
DEVASTATING BLOW
This is a shot of rare power that allows you to choose the direction in which your opponent flies. When a devastating blow hits its target, tilt the camera left or right using the directional keys or the D-pad to send your opponent flying!
Would you rather send him crashing into a danger zone for guaranteed damage or hurl him off a cliff in an attempt to inflict more damage while risking him getting away unscathed?
CRITICAL STATE
By landing certain blows, you can plunge your opponent into a critical state. A character in critical condition can no longer block, but can still land grapples. Carefully study your opponent's movements and chain your attacks avoiding his grips.
CRITICAL COMBOS
If your opponent is in critical condition when you hit them, you can extend the duration of their condition. Although you can attack with various hits, the damage dealt by critical combos is limited. Once the limit is reached, you cannot make any more attacks.
CRITICAL IMPACT
If you land a hit that exceeds the damage limit of a critical combo, you inflict a critical impact. Your opponent is completely defenceless, making it the perfect situation to chain together combos, power hits, and other high-damage hits.
MOVE LIST
In addition to the View Move List option in the Pause Menu, which tells you how to execute each of the normal moves, you can also refer to the handy Move List displayed on screen during duels. Additionally you have access to additional information, such as damage inflicted and display data in the Hit Details.
MODE PHOTO
With Spectator mode, you can watch duels between AI-controlled opponents, or rewatch your own matches, but you can also take photos during battles from a freely selectable angle and camera position. Your photos are displayed in Album mode.
