Here you relive the cultural achievements, trading expeditions and plunderings of those we now call “Vikings”, a term that had a whole new meaning at the end of the first millennium.
When these men from the north embarked on a raid, they used to say that they were going for a "viking".
Their Scandinavian ancestors were, however, much more than pirates: they were also a people of explorers and founders of states. It is said that Leif Eriksson was the first European to set foot in America, long before Christopher Columbus.
In the region now called Normandy, these intruders were not called Vikings but “Normans”. One of them was the famous William the Conqueror, who invaded England in 1066. He succeeded where the King of Norway failed a few years earlier: conquering the throne of England.
If the people of this people became exceptional sailors, it is partly because of their difficult agricultural situation: the poor harvests were the cause of great distress.
In this game, you can explore new territories, or ravage them. You will also simulate everyday life, harvesting resources in order to gain a stable financial position within society.
At the end of the game, the player whose possessions have the most value wins.
