Nyctophobia, which means "fear of the dark", is a cooperative survival game in which up to four players must work together to escape a crazed predator chasing them through a dark forest.
But there's a catch: would-be survivors are playing the game with dark glasses. Players cannot see the board and must rely on touch to navigate to safety. So, are you afraid of the dark?
Nyctophobia is a cooperative tactile maze game for 3-5 players. All but one of the players play the game completely unable to see the board.
Blinded players form the Chased team. They are tasked with finding the car space on the board and surviving until the police arrive to save them.
The seeing player is the Hunter, who is tasked with hunting the Hunted and reducing one of the Hunted to zero health before the police arrive.
Nyctophobia includes two versions of the Hunter that you can use: the Ax Murderer and the Mage.
The ax murderer stalks you and your friends in the forest, advancing without a care or a thought, chopping down the trees that separate you to reach you faster; it is the most fundamental and carnal of all the experiences you can encounter in Nyctophobia.
The mage, on the other hand, is a trickster. It is not enough for the mage to hunt his victims. Her goal is to play with their minds, manipulate the forest around them, and leave blind opponents more lost than when she found them. The mage can rotate the map, move trees in the forest, and generally confuse players.
