Imagine a racing game designed by and for pilots and you'll have an idea of what awaits you in Need for Speed SHIFT.
The game will deliver a level of realism never before seen in a Need for Speed title for an incredibly authentic and immersive driving experience. Need for Speed is intended to be a simulation and arcade game.
The big novelty of this installment of the NFS series is the return of the camera inside the cockpit.
The game features a hyper-realistic first-person cockpit view. Each interior has been modeled with the greatest possible attention to detail.
When playing with this view, you can move the driver's head to look out the window, observe something in the rear view mirror or simply watch yourself shift gears.
SHIFT was developed to replicate the feeling of driving high-performance cars in a race. The exterior vision becomes blurred when the racing car goes too fast and camera movements aping reality.
At each bend, the camera pans to show you the end of the bend.
Each acceleration or braking is accompanied by the camera oscillating back and forth (or back and forth) to represent the effects of speed on the driver's head.
